How it all started...
King’s Way Church was established in 2005 by Pastor Phil and Debbie Fannin. However, before that they both found themselves driving to Huntington, WV to quench their spiritual thirst for a word of faith church. After several years of that, Pastor Phil found himself desiring the experience he and his family had been experiencing in Huntington, WV for his community in Ashland. After some resistance and hoping someone else might accept the call to establish a new word of faith church, Pastor Phil embraced the call of God to start this work for the community that he loved. Soon after, King's Way Church was established. Our beginning included a quaint downtown church building built in the 1800s with stained glass windows, pews, and a big dream. With hard work, dedication, and help from their congregation and friends, King’s Way has become a beacon of hope and light for the people of Ashland Kentucky and the tristate area of Ohio and West Virginia.

Expanding the vision...
With a desperate need for more space, and after much prayer, planning, and financial support, we sold our beautiful downtown building, bought a piece of property, and built our very own church building on Providence Hill in 2017. Our new campus has afforded us the space, amenities, and room to dream that we hadn't had before. Since the initial inception of building a new 8,800 square foot church, we have continued expansion on our 14 acre property. We recognized the need for a place for fellowship with the congregation of KWC so we committed to building a unique recreational building (what we call the Inside Out Building). The new building includes 12 glass garage doors that have given us the ability to do outside type events with our doors rolled up or inside events with our doors pulled down. We also installed a large fenced in area with playground equipment, which includes a very popular zipline for our kids! After completing these, we also saw the need for adding a kitchen to our building. As of November 2024, we now have a fully functional kitchen to serve the needs of KWC special events. With all of these expansions, we still have even more land to continue to expand the vision in the future!
Where we are headed...
While we have certainly come a long way over the past 20 years, there is still more to do and more room to do it. Our vision is to continue to preach the word of faith message, to continue to build up the believer, and to encourage more people in our community to accept Jesus as their Lord. As we do that, we will see our sanctuary fill up more and more. Our desire is to explore new opportunities and to build believers and and reach the unsaved-- whether through church services, specific class subject offerings, online outreach, or other new innovative opportunities as availability allows. We are constantly exploring new technology to give us the best chance at reaching people with the message of Christ. In short, we not done and we believe the best is yet to come!
